This is the amazing transformation of a woman who lost 5 stone in five months on a keto diet and has now become a lifestyle coach to help others.

Shirley Angela D’Souza is from the southern Indian province of Goa, but lives and works in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.

According to national news outlet the Daily Breaking News, Shirley suffers from dysmenorrhea, a hormonal issue which causes extremely painful menstruation cycles and this teamed with lots of travelling and feeling sluggish meant she piled on weight without her realising.

In an exclusive interview with Newsflash, Shirley said: “At my heaviest when I finally decided to step on the scale a week or two after I felt keto was working I was 78.4kg (12.3 stone) however my medical record in one admission showed my file at 84kg (13.2 stone)… for a short person like me measuring 5’1 ft that is a lot of extra baggage.”

Despite working out and doing Bikram Yoga, Shirley was unable to shift the pounds, until her pregnant friend told her about the Keto diet.

The Ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet which forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.

Shirley told Newsflash: “I actually tried keto on a whim and was quite surprised by the results which kept me going. I had already reached the heaviest I had ever been and after trying all sorts of workouts and diets – I felt I had nothing more to lose than trying keto in 2017 – it seemed to appeal to my palate.”

Shirley got down to 51kg (8 stone) in the next five months, as well as experiencing a whole range of health benefits.

She said: “I am no longer insulin resistant, neither do I have borderline cholesterol – my condition of dysmenorrhea is manageable without painkillers or morphine shots, I feel in the best energy and brain clarity of my life.

“The diet inspired me so much how much food heals when you know what to eat. It has become my passion to help others achieve the confidence I feel in my skin today and to help my clients all around the globe.”
