Beautiful Photographer Dies In Motorbike Accident In Thailand Two Days After Cryptic Social Media Post

This pretty photographer has died in a motorbike accident on the Thai island of Koh Samui just two days after she wrote “Sleep is a gentle death” on Instagram in an apparent premonition of her imminent fate.

Alina Bagirova, who was born in the Russian city of Norilsk but grew up in Saint Petersburg, had been living in Thailand, where she gave photography workshops, drew and taught yoga, for over a year.

She had moved to the South East Asian country in search of a new life in the wake of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

Her death was announced by her friend and compatriot, influencer Artur Sita, to his 101,000 Instagram followers in the early hours of Tuesday, 28th September.

He wrote: “Today, to our great regret, a pure soul has left us in an accident. A bright memory forever remains in our hearts, beloved friend.”

Alina’s death is a particularly painful tragedy for her family, as she had only recently lost her mother.

The photographer, age not stated, had been deeply saddened by her mum’s passing, though she wrote in a post on Instagram on 21st July that she had finally come to peace with the tragedy.

However, her most curious post to her 2,288 followers was her final one, in which she seemed to predict her own upcoming demise.

She posted a picture of a horizon at dusk on Saturday, 25th September captioned: “Sleep is a gentle death.”

Two days later, she was fatally injured in a road accident on the island of Koh Samui after she lost control of the motorbike she was riding, according to her friends.

There was reportedly no collision with another vehicle, and her friends have speculated that an animal may have run into the road, though the true cause remains unclear.

It is not clear if the local authorities are investigating the incident, and no information has yet been reported about the possible repatriation of Alina’s body to her native Russia.
