This is the moment a teary young woman bravely takes to social media to denounce her boyfriend, the person she “trusted so much and loved so much”, for violently beating her up.

Beautiful makeup artist Andressa Bonatto took to social media to show netizens the black eye she received in the beating and to warn them to look out for signs of domestic violence.

According to the 27-year-old woman, the beating took place in the Brazilian municipality of Sao Miguel do Oeste on Thursday, 8th July.

She spoke of her fear of it happening again in the video she recorded and posted on Tuesday, 13th July, telling netizens that her boyfriend was still at large and continuing to threaten her.

She confessed: “I don’t feel safe.”

In addition to posting the video on social media, Andressa reported the incident to the police in the early hours following the assault. The police are currently investigating the incident.

The 23-year-old suspect, whose first name is Eduardo, has claimed he did not attack his girlfriend and that he was defending himself from her attacks on him instead.

He even filed his own police report against Andressa, alleging bodily injury.

Photos taken of the suspect do indeed show bruises on his upper arm and upper chest, though Andressa arguably ended up worse off, given she took multiple punches in the head.

Andressa has currently been heard by the police, but Eduardo had not yet been questioned at the time of reporting.

The judiciary granted a restraining order taken out by Andressa on Eduardo, which has come into effect.

The couple had been together for a year and a half and had been living together since April. According to Andressa, Eduardo would get aggressive when he drank alcohol.

Eduardo has since claimed Andressa had attacked him on previous occasions, though he said he had never reported any until now.

Andressa said she made the video to encourage other women to report their violent partners.
