This is the moment a beautiful lynx can be seen stuck at the top of a tiny tree after being chased up there by dogs.

The video was filmed in the Kuile River Nature Reserve in the Greater Khingan mountain range in the northern Chinese province of Inner Mongolia.

The lynx reportedly entered the premises of the nature reserve’s management office and was chased by four big dogs kept there.

The lynx sought refuge at the top of a thin tree and remained up there until the dogs went away.

In the footage, the large wild cat is seen sitting precariously on a slim branch at the top of the tree as one dog patrols the base and tries to scale the thin trunk at the end of the clip.

The second video shows a zoomed angle of the silver-coloured lynx perched on top of the tree, calmly biding its time.

Workers in the management office reported hearing the lynx entering the premises again 10 days later where it encountered the dogs again.

Workers found a large number of lynx footprints outside along with a trail of blood that led around two kilometres from the office.

It is unclear why it went back with workers believing the lynx returned to extract revenge and injured as a result. It is unclear if it was badly injured in the suspected fight with the four dogs.

It is also unknown if any of the dogs suffered injuries.
