Cops are searching for this beautiful influencer who they claim funds her luxury lifestyle by running a drug-trafficking gang that has been linked to several recent murders.
Jennifer Rovero, a Brazilian fitness model and influencer, has 17,200 followers on Instagram and is currently wanted by Brazilian cops for allegedly being the leader of a criminal gang that operates in the municipalities of Paranagua and Matinhos in the Brazilian state of Parana.
The Civil Police of Parana (PCPR), the state’s investigative police force, has linked an unspecified number of murders in the region this year to the alleged gang, which they have not named.
Chief police investigator Rodrigo Brown said: “We have been noticing since the beginning of the year an increase in the number of murders here in the region of Paranagua, on the coast, violent crimes, always committed in broad daylight, and this caught the attention of the Security Secretariat and the Civil Police Department.”
Local media including the news site Banda B reported that Rovero’s gang is believed to be made up of 21 members, 17 of whom have been arrested while Rovero and three others remain at large.
The arrests were carried out by the PCPR last Thursday, 21st October.
The PCPR also served 44 search warrants in relation to the case and, in the process, seized 800 grammes (1.8 lbs) of crack cocaine, 1.8 kilogrammes (4.0 lbs) of marijuana, 4.4 kilogrammes (9.7 lbs) of cocaine, seven firearms, eight mobile phones, and more than BRL 35,000 (GBP 4,601) in cash.
According to the news site Noticias 7, the cops also confiscated several luxury cars and high-end apartments linked to the gang.
The wanted influencer regularly posted photos of herself on social media wearing expensive branded clothes and shared moments from her life at the gym, pool, clubs and journey in luxury sports cars.
However, her Instagram page has now been set to ‘private’, so it is not yet clear how her followers have reacted to the accusations.
The investigation is ongoing and as of today, 28th October, no updates on the suspect’s whereabouts have been released.
