An influencer known as a tattooed Barbie to her fans has been shot dead in front of her two children as they walked down the street.

Victim Amanda Leticia Dias Cardoso da Silva, 25, was approached by the gunman as she strolled with her daughters in the town of Olinda, Pernambuco State, Brazil.

Witnesses say he ordered her to put down the daughter she was holding in her arms and then shot her three times at point-blank range on 24th February.

Her children – aged around three and five – watched on in horror as their mum fell to the ground in a pool of blood.

Police later said she had been shot three times with a .40 calibre handgun and died before paramedics could reach her.

Heavily-inked Amanda was known as ‘Barbie’ on Instagram, where she had 10,100 followers.

Her body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in the neighbouring city of Recife for a post-mortem examination.

Civil Police are investigating the shooting but are baffled at finding a motive for the murder.

One of their lines of investigation is femicide, and detectives are working to determine if the suspect and victim were romantically involved.

Other lines of investigation are an argument or revenge.

They believe the killing may have been caught on a CCTV camera and are analysing footage as part of the investigation.

The victim’s family has so far refused to speak to the press.
