A thug beating his partner on the beach got a taste of his own medicine when a group of burly men gave him a dose of instant justice.

Shocking footage from Enseada Beach in Guaruja, Sao Paulo State, Brazil shows the brute mercilessly kicking, punching, and trying to throttle the woman on 6th November.

As she desperately tries to defend herself, he lifts her to her feet just so he can knock her down again with a flurry of punches.

But as he tries to drag her away, a group of angry vigilantes run to her rescue.

While some act as lookouts, four wade in with punches and kicks as he curls up on the floor.

At one point, seven men can be seen standing over him in the showdown filmed by a couple from a beachside bar.

Helped by a passer-by, the woman was able to walk away from the attack but looked to be in considerable pain.

She was eventually picked up by an ambulance and taken to hospital. Her current condition is unclear but she was reported to have sustained several injuries.

Her partner was eventually arrested by police. The motive for his brutal onslaught remains unclear, but the case is under investigation.
