Beartrack Mountains Timelapse Of A Coming Rainfall

GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK, ALASKA-Dark clouds fill the sky before the rain and hide the peaks of the Beartrack Mountains. The sight of a coming rainfall was captured on a timelapse camera from Bartlett Cove in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska yesterday (15 June). The timelapse footage shows how the Alaska rain clouds cover the whole sky, managing to swallow even the peaks of the rugged mountains, above a distant forested coast. Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve shared this video on the Facebook platform with the following message:” The Beartrack mountains are just visible through a gap in puffy clouds, which roil and build, eventually filling the sky.

“We love sunny days, but it’s water that feeds our lush Southeast Alaskan environment. Clouds and rain have made their return, drenching the forest with needed sustenance and building the snowpack on the glaciers high in the Fairweather Range.”
