This is the moment a pair of bears meet at the border between China and Russia and begin fighting, breaking the border fence as they brutally wrestle for control of their territory.

The incident occurred at the border fence between China and Russia in Russia’s south-eastern Jewish Autonomous Region Oblast.

In the footage, the bears can be seen appearing face-to-face over the border fence when they instantly begin fighting.

The two huge animals rear up onto their hind legs and brutally fight, knocking over the fence as they grapple.

According to the Amur Tiger Centre Animal Reserve, who shared the footage, the bears broke one camera and damaged several others during the fight. They said that the tigers in the area are not usually as aggressive as the bears seen in the video when they meet.

They said they could not share too much footage because of the damage to the cameras and local media report an engineering construction at the border was partially damaged in the incident.

It is unclear if either of the bears were injured in the incident.
