This is the bizarre moment a naked man is spotted taking a bath in a fountain in a tourist hotspot in the Canary Islands during the coronavirus lockdown.

The startling scene took place in a fountain on Jose Mesa and Lopez Avenue, one of the main roads in the city of Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria in the Spanish Canary Islands.

In the video, a naked man can be seen standing in the fountain seemingly unperturbed by passersby.

He then drops down into the water as if taking a bath before the clip ends.

The video was shared with the comments: “This afternoon in Las Palmas nature broke through and even cooled off in a nearby fountain.”

Netizen ‘zugzwang____’ commented: “Wonderful.”

It is unclear why the man was in a fountain or if the authorities are investigating the case.

The Spanish government has announced an easing of its lockdown restrictions with residents allowed to leave their homes to do one hour of exercise or an hour’s walk from tomorrow (2nd May).

Those doing sports or walking will have to complete their hour between 6 and 10 am or 8 to 11 pm and walkers must stay within 1 kilometre of their homes.

Those aged 70 or over and dependant people will be allowed to leave the house between 10 am and 12 pm or 7 pm and 8 pm, whilst children are allowed to go out from 12 pm to 7 pm.

The first phase of the easing of restrictions will see physiotherapists, hairdressers and opticians open on 4th May.
