Russian cops are trying to track down a BASE jumper seen here leaping from a skyscraper in northern Moscow.

After leaping from the building with his arms outstretched, the jumper fell numerous floors of the 155-metre building before deploying his parachute.

However, it appears the man landed successfully and then quickly packed up his chute and escaped before he could be arrested.

Cops confirmed the incident, and said that the launching pad was the roof of the Savelovsky City residential complex. They are also looking at how the man managed to get on top of the building.

Speaking on the video, a man’s voice can be heard saying: “Dude jumps from a skyscraper. Crazy! It’s 6:41 in the morning, and he – oh, flew! Lucky that he took the parachute with him.”

Cops say if the man is caught, he faces a fine.

Online commentator Katharsys was one of the many impressed by the stunt saying: “Brave, I hope he doesn’t get much of a fine if they catch him.”

And Timur Karibov added: “If the parachute had not opened he would have been mincemeat.”

The identity of the illegal jumper is still not known.
