A naked man in Germany crashed a car into an astonished woman’s living room while she was watching TV before running away down the road covered in blood.
The homeowner was slightly injured but managed to jump out a window to safety and was astonished when the naked man climbed out of the wrecked vehicle and ran off.
The incident took place in Oldenburg, a city in Lower Saxony in north-western Germany, when the unnamed 21-year-old driver crashed the car into the living room of a home belonging to a woman who has been named as Katharina Menzel, 46, on Wednesday, 19th October.
Menzel was reportedly watching television when the crash occurred, with the naked man, who was in the car with his partner, according to local media, then reportedly ditching the vehicle and taking off down the road covered in blood.
The driver had reportedly lost control of the Hyundai vehicle, according to local media, for reasons unknown, after starting the car in the driveway belonging to the house across the street.
The car then rammed through a hedge, destroyed a bicycle shelter, hit a VW Golf and then crashed into the house, smashing into Menzel’s living room.
Menzel was reportedly shocked after the incident which saw her lightly injured despite managing to get out of the way.
She said: “I’m in total shock, I don’t know anything anymore. Except that I jumped out of the window when they suddenly came into the living room.”
The Hyundai is reportedly a complete write-off.
Menzel said that after the crash, she heard screaming and shouting, indicating that the pair who had just destroyed her living room were arguing. The passenger, unnamed, was reportedly injured in the crash.
The naked man then did a runner before later being apprehended, according to local media.
Local media speculated that the pair might have been on drugs, with a police officer quoted as saying: “This is the subject of the investigation.”
A structural engineer now needs to assess the building to determine if it is still habitable. The police investigation is ongoing.
