A controversial new video game called Balconing Simulator 2020 which allows players to control a drunk tourist in Union Jack shorts trying to jump from a balcony into a hotel swimming pool is to be released.
The indie online video game store Humble Bundle has released a trailer of the video game Balconing Simulator 2020 to announce its international launch which is reportedly on Friday 13th December 2019.
The trailer shows a man wearing swimming shorts who is in the toilet of a hotel looking at himself in the mirror. The man then clumsily walks towards the balcony of the bedroom bumping into furniture before reaching the balcony and jumping into the swimming pool which is in the hotel’s grounds
The figure is seen making several flips in the open air but the trailer is cut before it manages to make it to the pool.
The trailer shows a message which says: “People of all kind have been asking themselves one single question: If I jump will I reach that pool?”
One of the figures in the images can be seen in Union Jack shorts.
The trailer has already been watched more 27,930 times on one platform alone with netizens connecting the game to holidaymakers in the city of Magaluf in the Spanish Balearic island of Majorca where this summer local authorities filed 11 complaints against tourists who jumped from a balcony or between them.
Multiple Brits have died in Spain as a result of so-called ‘balconing’.
The game is developed by Fancy + Punk and the publisher is Humble Bundle.
The controversial game divided netizens online.
Youtube user ‘Activity’ said: “Honestly this game is a bit weird.”
Meanwhile fellow netizen ‘bettertomorrow85’ branded the game as “trash”.
However, some trolls made sick jokes about the game.
Netizen ‘John Constantine’ said: “At least they will get some practice before they come to Spain.”
And ‘4rtys’ said: “Will Magaluf DLC be included?”
