A Ukrainian blogger almost killed after she was stabbed 19 times allegedly by her jealous ex-boyfriend has posted images of her horrific injuries in order to criticise a court’s decision to allow him out on bail before his trial.
Olga Burdeynaya, 19, said she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend, identified only as Alexei D., because of local privacy laws, when he was in a jealous rage.
She said he stabbed her repeatedly in her neck, face, arms and back, with one of the blows puncturing her lung. He then allegedly left her for dead in her home town near Odessa which is in the Odessa Oblast region of south-western Ukraine, and she only survived when she was spotted in agony by a passerby, who called emergency services.

He was arrested, and a criminal case was opened for attempted murder, but his defence repeatedly demanded he be allowed out on bail, and the court has now agreed.
The decision outraged the blogger, who posted images of her injuries at the time and three months later on her Instagram page.
She said she was now afraid he will attack her again after being allowed house arrest, and she also fears for the lives of her family.
She said she posted the images to make sure the courts remained aware of the fact that victims counted to, and to prevent such decisions again in the future.
She said she was also worried that the man who attacked her might decide to flee the area in order to escape eventual punishment.
She said: “There is no limit to my pain and disappointment. I was still alive after what he did, although I was on the verge of death.”
