This five-year-old child left naked outside in minus 20 degrees Celsius by his parents had regularly turned up badly beaten at hospital, acting “like a zombie” and saying “Daddy is good, he loves us”.

The shocking scene was filmed outside the family home in the village of Seleznevo, which is located in the Altai Republic, in southern Siberia in Russia, near the border with Kazakhstan.

The footage, filmed by a local woman who has not been named and who reportedly heard the child crying, shows the naked boy, who does not even have any socks and shoes on, let alone any other clothes, taking shelter under a porch as snow can be seen covering the street and with temperatures reportedly as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.

The child, who the authorities said in a statement is only five years old, was taken to hospital, where an unnamed employee reportedly said: “It was not the first time I saw these children in the hospital. Exactly a year ago, this situation repeated itself: the children arrived completely blue, the middle one even had blue ears.

“Everything is very sad there… They are like zombies, they were brought to the hospital – both last time and this time – and the children repeat the same thing: ‘Daddy is good, he loves us’.”

Locals allege that the mother, who has not been named but who the authorities said is 31 years old, beats her three children after that kind of behaviour was normalised by her current partner, who has not been named either but who is reportedly aged 34.

The child, who has not been named but who is said to be the eldest of the three, had reportedly been left out in the cold “for educational purposes”.

The local authorities have said that the children have now been taken away from their parents and they are considering taking the parents to court to deprive them of their guardianship rights. The local prosecutor’s office is also reportedly looking into the matter.
