A man with a bad back has been badly beaten when he tried to get a refund after discovering the massage parlour he booked to ease his lumbar pain was actually a sex den.

According to reports, four defendants, all Vietnamese, are standing trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for beating an Algerian man with a metal pipe and leaving him with severe injuries.

The defendants, two men and two women, allegedly punched and beat the victim with a metal pipe.

Reports said they have all been charged with aggravated assault. The men have been identified only as a 39-year-old man and an 18-year-old unemployed man while the women, both accused of working as prostitutes, are aged 35 and 33. No names were given.

According to court documents, the incident took place on 10th September when the unnamed 45-year-old manager visited a massage parlour to get his back treated.

He was reportedly told to pay 400 AED (84 GBP) at the door, and when he entered a room, he took off his clothes and looked for a towel.

He added: “A masseuse there told me it was okay to stay as I was.”

The victim continued: “As she began talking about sex, I told her I went there just for a massage. I stood up, opened the door and called for the receptionist. I told him to give me back my money as I did not want what they were offering.”

After he threatened to call the police, two men started beating the man before all four defendants surrounded him, punching and then hitting him over the head with a pipe, according to the victim.

A forensic report said the head injury he sustained was permanent, while he also suffered bruising around his right eye, according to local media.

Reports said the two women have admitted to being prostitutes, and one man confessed to bringing customers into the building for sex, but all four deny assaulting the victim.

The trial continues next week.
