This is the moment supermodel Natalia Vodianova shows off her axe-handling skills while chopping wood during a monastery visit.

Model and philanthropist Vodianova, nicknamed ‘Supernova’, was filmed chopping wood at the Alansky Epiphany Monastery in the south-western Russian republic of North Ossetia.

The 37-year-old shared the footage on Instagram for her 2.4 million followers where it has been viewed 310,000 times.

She accompanied the video with the message: “My new favourite fitness routine.”

The Russian model also said that her grandfather taught her to chop wood when she was little, but there is nowhere to practice the skill in Paris where lives.

In the footage, Vodianova is seen wearing a long skirt and leather boots as she readies herself with the axe in hand.

Her 12-year-old son Victor is heard saying: “Mummy, pretend it is your worst enemy’s head.”

The supermodel then slices the log in two, and someone says: “Clean cut.”
