Atletico Madrid have reportedly offered a final bid for Paris Saint Germain striker and Manchester United target Edinson Cavani with the transfer window deadline looming.
Spanish club giants Atletico Madrid reportedly offered Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 18 million EUR (15.22 million GBP) for Uruguayan striker Cavani, 32.
Josep Pedrerol, who hosts the ‘El Chiringuito de Jugones’ programme broadcast by Spanish channel La Sexta, said on the show: “Final offer for Cavani by Atletico. 15 million EUR (12.69 million GBP) plus 3 million (2.54 million GBP) in add-ons. They are not going to go higher”.
The offer comes as the clubs have reportedly been in talks for weeks over the striker’s future which will have to be decided very soon with the close of the transfer window looming.
It is unclear if PSG intend to accept the offer, however, local media report it will be the Spanish club’s final offer.
Cavani has struggled for game time at PSG with the arrival of Argentine striker Mauro Icardi on-loan from Inter Milan.
Cavani has appeared in 14 matches scoring five goals this season and is PSG’s all-time highest goalscorer with 198 goals.
He has been in the French capital since his move from Napoli in 2013 and has helped them win Ligue 1 five times.
