Atlanta Police Appeal For Help To Identify Double Murder Suspect Seen Leaving Flat Of Stabbing Victims Carrying Safe

Atlanta police have appealed for help in identifying this double murder suspect seen here leaving the flat of two victims who were later found stabbed to death.

The incident took place at 180 Jackson St in the city of Atlanta, in the US state of Georgia on 22nd November but the police have just shared the footage and a statement now in a bid to identify the suspect.

In the footage, which the Atlanta Police Department (APD) shared online, the hooded suspect can be seen entering the flat after spending some time walking down the building’s corridors, where he reportedly stayed “for a substantial amount of time” before then leaving, carrying what appears to be a safe with him.

The suspect then carries the safe outside and hoistS it over a metal fence as the footage ends. It is currently unclear what the safe contained.

Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Lieutenant Ralph Woolfolk explained that the footage showed the suspect entering the building through the parking garage, where he can be seen texting on his phone. The suspect then walked back through the parking garage past some cars.

Woolfolk then said that the suspect was buzzed into the residential area of the building, where he can be seen walking around the corridors for finally entering the flat where the two victims lived.

The two victims, a man and a woman who have not been named, were found stabbed to death by police officers at around 9:26 PM on the evening of 22nd November after they received a call.

It is believed that the 31-year-old man and the 30-year-old woman lived together in the apartment.

The police said: “A male suspect was allowed into the apartment where he stayed for a substantial amount of time before leaving. Later, after the suspect left, the two victims were found to be deceased.”

Information can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.StopCrimeATL.com . Persons do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to USD 2,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspect.”

It is currently unclear if robbery was the motive for the double murder.
