These are the stunning murals painted by a Chinese artist for his girlfriend so she wouldn’t be scared when walking back home late at night.

Zhang Hao, 30, transformed the previously dingy alleyway in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, south-western China, with vibrant mural art depicting cartoon characters.

Hao told local media: “I moved here with my girlfriend six months ago, and this alley is the closest way from my house to the subway station, but it is very dark at night; She once told me that she was afraid of passing through there at night.”

The alleyway runs alongside a decommissioned factory, and, given its old age, no street lamps were ever put up.

Hao said he thought to himself at the time: “If I paint some cute cartoons on the wall, she will not be afraid to walk through it.”

In February, the artist applied http://www.onlinephentermine.net for permission from the street committee to transform the alleyway, and enthusiastic officials quickly green-lit the plan.

Armed with a bench, a suitcase filled with painting tools, and his own two hands, Hao then spent 12 hours a day bringing the wall to life.

In less than three months, he has managed to paint more than 30 metres of the wall.

His girlfriend now has a new job and, as such, takes a different route home, but Hao says he still intends to paint the remaining 200 metres of the wall. He believes this will take him around a year to complete.

On the praise he has received from passersby, Hao said: “They all said I changed the look of the old alley and that they wanted me to keep painting.”

The artist added: “Even though it is time-consuming and difficult, I want to keep doing it because people who live nearby enjoy it, and I want more people to see my work.”

Zhang hopes that by promoting his work, he will get more customers and orders, which will allow him to gather enough money to be able to tie the knot with his girlfriend.
