These are heavily armoured ‘monster’ trucks which have been seized by the cops from the dangerous Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

The seizures came after an allegedly stolen car was spotted driving onto a farm by the authorities in the municipality of Tuxpan in the state of Jalisco in western Mexico.

After obtaining a warrant, the cops reportedly found two heavily armoured vehicles – reportedly known as ‘Monster’ trucks – inside a workshop on the farm. The vehicles featured made-to-measure armour and the letters CJNG, which stand for Jalisco New Generation Cartel on the side.

A video shows the heavily armoured vehicles in the streets, with one being towed. The vehicles are covered in thick plating with holes reportedly designed to allow those inside to shoot out.

The Jalisco Prosecution said in a statement that the seizure of the vehicles took place thanks to Army staff who noticed the suspicious activity involving the stolen car.

The armoured vehicles are reportedly used by the cartel during clashes with rival organisations and the authorities.

An investigation has been opened. It is not clear whether any arrests have been made.

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel is considered one of Mexico’s largest and most dangerous criminal organisations.
