After the alleged incident, De Las Heras recorded a video claiming Cristaldo hit her. She then said “look at how he left my face” and “he dragged me across the floor” while she pointed out her swollen face.

Local media report the incident lead to a gender-based violence accusation and a restraining order in which Cristaldo must stay 300 metres from De Las Heras for a period of 150 days.

The accusation is currently under investigation.

De Las Heras spoke with local media and said “it was not the first time” this happened.

When describing the incident, she said: “I found messages with another woman. He asked her to eat here, eat there, go to the cinema.”

De Las Heras went on to say after confronting Cristaldo about the messages “he threw a bottle of water at my face, which is why I was wet.

“Then, he dragged me across the floor and hit me on my face.”

It is unclear if there will be a trial.

Racing are set to play Defensa y Justicia today (Friday) in the Argentine SuperLiga. Local media report Cristaldo is expected to be with the squad for the match.

Racing are currently fourth in the league three points behind first-place Boca Juniors and one ahead of Argentine giants River Plate.
