Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and his wife Nina Weiss are reportedly living separate lives and the reports have fuelled speculation that they have split up.

German international keeper Neuer, 33, has reportedly separated from his wife of three years Weiss, 26, after German newspaper ‘Bild’ report “the marriage is breaking up and the pair have not been living together for some time”.

Other media reported that Nina had moved out of the family home in Tegernsee.

Local media report Neuer was seen without his wedding ring at training sessions in the Qatari capital city of Doha where Bayern Munich were training between 4th to 10th January as they prepared for the second half of the season.

Adding to the speculation, the German international has reportedly changed his profile picture on popular mobile application Whatsapp to one of him without his wife.

When asked about his reported separation Neuer said: “I understand that you need to pose the question, but that is a private matter.

“I hope you understand that I don’t want to say anything about it.”

Neuer met Weiss, the Austrian daughter of a hotel owner, in 2014 on the red carpet at a gala event.

The couple married in Tannheim located in western Austria on 21 May 2017 followed by a celebration in Italy.

There have been no reports on comments by Weiss.
