This is the moment an angry monkey grabs a boy’s hair and shoves his face into a wooden post at a popular Chinese scenic spot.
The incident was filmed at the Lianyungang Huaguoshan Scenic Area in the city of Lianyungang in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu.
According to the news site Baidu, the young lad was at the scenic spot with family members when he approached the monkey to stroke it.
Despite also having juicy fruit in his hand, the monkey took issue with the boy stroking its fur and lashed out, grabbing the boy’s hair and pulling his face into the wooden post it was sitting on.
In the footage, a group of people is seen leaving fruit and other treats on the fence where the monkey is sitting.
The young boy approaches the animal from its side and strokes its fur. However, the monkey snarls and grabs the lad’s hair.
It pulls the boy’s head into the wooden post and then lets go, allowing him to walk over to his parents and point to his head to tell them about what had just happened.
The cameraperson explained: “There were a lot of people there that day and everyone was gathered around the monkey to feed it. The little boy stroked it and the monkey grabbed his hair.”
The cameraperson said the monkey quickly let go of the child’s hair without causing any problems, and the parents simply checked their son and left.
Staff at the Lianyungang Huaguoshan Scenic Area reminded visitors that they should “avoid teasing and touching the wild animals to avoid accidents” at the mountain spot.
