Ambulance With 5 Occupants Overturns In Street After Car Smashes Into Side

This is the moment a car driver rams into the side of an ambulance and sends it skidding on its side along a busy intersection, injuring five people inside.

The accident took place in the district of Iskilip in the north-central Turkish province of Corum on 16th February.

In the CCTV footage, the red car is seen smashing into the side of the speeding ambulance before sending it teetering along the road on two wheels.

As the red car comes to a stop in the middle of the road with a smashed front, the ambulance flips on its side and slides along the tarmac.

The occupants of the red car are seen opening the doors as the video comes to an end.

In the second clip, dozens of road users are seen exiting their vehicles to help those in the crashed ambulance.

According to the news site Yeni Safak, the ambulance, driven by Baki Solak, was transporting patient Hulya K., her relative Ali K., and three paramedics when it overturned in the road.

The car driver, named as Hasan Senturk, reportedly rammed the ambulance, causing it to flip on its side and injuring all five people inside.

The injured occupants were taken to the Hitit University Erol Olcok Training and Research Hospital by other ambulances sent to the scene, according to Yeni Safak.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
