AMAZON RIVER RESCUE: Cops And Delivery Man Save Three Trapped In Overturned Car In Canal

This dramatic footage shows Florida deputies and a delivery driver rescuing three people that were trapped in an overturned car inside a steep water canal.

Newsflash obtained the footage from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, along with a short statement according to which the rescue operation took place in Indian River County, in the US state of Florida.

Deputy Dan Whittington accidentally found the submerged vehicle laying upside down in the canal while he was on his way to an unrelated call, the police said.

He leapt into action and jumped into the canal to save the unnamed occupants who were trapped inside the vehicle.

An Amazon driver, who was not named, also found himself at the scene and immediately climbed down and entered the canal to assist the deputy in the rescue mission.

Another deputy also arrived at the scene to help them out shortly thereafter.

Body-worn footage shows them pulling two terrified women out of the smashed-up car, who repeatedly tell them ‘thank you’ as they tremble in fear.

The Indian River County Fire Rescue also jumped on board the rescue and ultimately transported the rescuees safely to local hospitals, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Thankfully, the women only sustained minor injuries and are now recovering.
