Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez is reportedly set to return to the pitch sooner than expected following his ankle injury after he was snapped in training.
The reports come after Chilean striker Sanchez, 30, made a post on social media to his army of 10.2 million followers.
The image shows Sanchez wearing Inter Milan training gear while holding a ball in his right hand as he smiles.
Local media report the post came as a response to an article written by Spanish sports newspaper ‘Sport’ entitled “Where is Alexis Sanchez?”
The picture reportedly also marks the striker’s return to the training pitch.
He suffered a dislocated ankle and tendon damage on October 12th in Chile’s 0-0 draw with Colombia during an international friendly.
Sanchez could reportedly return to Inter’s “first-team squad as early as 21st December” in time to play the club’s last match in 2019 against Genoa.
The forward’s post received a lot of support and positive messages from fans hoping for an early return of the ex-Arsenal star.
‘P3drxoooo.23’ wrote: “Great Alexis, I hope you can play as soon as possible and play like a machine like you did two or three years ago.”
Inter are set to play Barcelona today (Tuesday) in their last Champions League group stage match as Barcelona have already secured first position, sitting four points ahead of Inter and Borussia Dortmund.
Sanchez was sent on loan Inter in this summer’s transfer window after 18 months at Manchester United. The striker has scored five goals in 45 matches for the Red Devils.
Before suffering his injury, the Chilean international made four appearances and scored one goal for the Italian club.
