This is the moment Atlanta police officers track down and arrest a dangerous gunman who had been recklessly shooting in the streets.

The incident took place in Atlanta, the capital city of the US state of Georgia.

Newsflash obtained the footage from the Atlanta Police Department (APD), along with a statement that said: “Atlanta police responded to several shots being fired in the area of Andrews Dr NW and Peachtree Rd NE.

“Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area, but were initially unable to locate the shooter.”

As they were searching the area, a second call reportedly came through – this time describing the shooter, later identified as Joel Blasco, 24.

Officers continued to search the area and soon enough they were able to locate Blasco.

Body-worn footage shows APD officers meeting up with a witness who identified the reckless shooter.

They found Blasco walking nearby and promptly arrested him without incident.

Officers reportedly recovered the weapon, a 9MM Luger, and found multiple shell casings at the scene.

Blasco was later transported to the Fulton County Jail, the APD said.
