This is the moment a dozen cute disabled dogs in wheelchairs can be seen sprinting happily in a video on the beach.

The clip was released by Le Sanctuaire de La Faune de Tanger is an animal sanctuary that homes 500 animals in Tangier, in north-western Morocco.

In the video, the dogs are seen running using the wheelchairs to support their disabled back legs as they enjoy exercise and fresh air by the sea.

It is unclear how the cute canines were injured.

Animal species housed at the sanctuary include dogs, cats, and donkeys.

The sanctuary was established in 2013 by Salima Kadaoui (Sally) and her sister after they saw the ill treatment of stray animals on the streets of Tangier.

“We have animals at the sanctuary that, if we hadn’t saved, would almost certainly have been euthanised. These include 15 very happy disabled dogs scooting about on wheels, many dogs and cats who have amputated limbs and so many more with ongoing expensive medical conditions. But to us, every life is precious,” the sanctuary states on their website.

The sanctuary depends mainly on the funding and support from local communities and abroad, without any corporate or government support.

Their latest initiative is called Project Hayat where they treat, neuter, vaccinate and tag stray animals (TNVT), so they can be identifiable to the Moroccan authorities that often eradicate strays through killing them.
