The dog, named Juan, was initially rescued in the town of Tigre in the province of Buenos Aires in Argentina, when a woman, identified as Claudia Giunta, spotted a tiny injured dog over the bridge of Taurita.

Claudia, who rescues stray dogs and finds them homes, took care of it for eight months before a family decided to adopt it along with another dog.

But they took it back to her only ten days after the adoption.

She could not believe the reason they gave her, saying: “They told me he had stolen food from the table.”

“I have five dogs, all of them rescued from the street and they do the same things. It is not something serious enough to return it.”

She shared a post on social media about Juan’s situation which spread online.

“We are very sad. Juan was returned for stealing a little bit of food from a table. They suffered a lot in the street and they need a lot of love. We are searching for an adoptive family for Juan.”

Soon Claudia began to receive messages from many people willing to adopt Juan.

She added that a couple in which she trusts has decided to adopt it in the end.

Netizen ‘David Jackson’ commented: “The first thing it will steal you is the heart.”
