Abducted Girl Tied To Pipe Uses Console To Contact Cops

An abducted schoolgirl tied to an iron pipe has used her captor’s videogame console to connect to the internet and message the police about her confinement.

The schoolgirl, named and age not disclosed, was found tied up at the suspect’s home in the city of Yokohama in the eastern Japanese prefecture of Kanagawa.

The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Hiroyasu Goto, was arrested by the Japanese cops on 5th August.

He is accused of tying the girl, who comes from the prefecture of Saitama, to an iron pipe with wire at his home in Tsurumi Ward.

While confined in the middle-aged man’s home, the schoolgirl cleverly used a videogame console connected to the internet to access the website of the Saitama Prefectural Police.

She messaged them to say “I’m tied up and cannot leave” on the site’s reporting system.

The Yoshikawa police said the victim was unharmed when they arrived at the scene.

Under questioning, the suspect reportedly told cops that he “met her online”.

According to news site Tokyo Reporter, the girl’s family reported to the police about a month ago that she had run away from home.

Japan Today report police said the suspect and the girl had become acquaintances on a members-only social networking site.

The investigation continues.
