This is the moment a shopkeeper is pushed to the ground by her 9-foot, 330-lb glass door which falls on top of her as she tries to catch it to stop it breaking.

The accident happened at the entrance of the business belonging to shop owner Huang Xiaoyan, 29, on 11th September.

The CCTV video from Xi’an, capital of China’s north-western Shaanxi Province, shows Ms Huang attempting to lock her tall glass doors when one of them refuses to close properly.

The entire glass panel measuring 9 by 3 feet and weighing some 330 lbs then suddenly pops out of its hinges and begins falling onto her.

In the video, Ms Huang tries to prevent it from falling by pushing it with her hands, but the heavy glass pane knocks her to the ground.

The entire glass door then shatters as it hits the ground, with countless tiny shards covering the pavement and the collapsed Ms Huang.

Her husband, Mr Tang, said she was taken to Xi’an Daxing Hospital where doctors found she had broken bones in her left foot.

The couple have demanded that the landlord waive the rent on the remaining eight months of their lease as compensation.

The agreement was signed in May 2018, and a clause states any breakage under normal use would fall to the landlord to repair, Mr Tang revealed.

However, the owner of the space is reportedly refusing to pay or compensate the couple.

Mr Tang said: “The landlord told us he would not take responsibility because the door was fine when he handed the space over to us.

“He even wants us to fix the door ourselves.

“We want him to fix the door and waive the rest of the rent while also providing some compensation.”

According to reports, the landlord has offered to fix the door using a portion of the couple’s rent.

Mr Tang and Ms Huang would have a strong legal case against the landlord should they decide to take him to court, reports said.
