93yo Woman Survives Lorry Smashing Into Her House

A 93-year-old woman has “miraculously” survived after this lorry smashed into her house at speed leaving its driver seriously injured and the vehicle’s trailer bent at an angle under the weight of the debris.

The incident took place in the commune of Luneville, in the north-eastern French department of Meurthe-et-Moselle on Monday morning at around 7:45am when the 38-tonne HGV smashed into the home, bringing part of the roof down on top of it.

The lorry driver was stuck under the debris and had to be rescued. He has since been hospitalised in a serious condition.

The old lady whose house the lorry crashed into was uninjured in the incident.

The local fire department shared these shocking photographs on Twitter.

They show how the front of the lorry was completely buried under the debris, with the trailer completely bend at a downward angle under the weight of destroyed house.

According to French TV network France Info, the unnamed 93-year-old lady, whose house the lorry crashed into, “miraculously” survived.

But French newspaper Actu report that while the lorry driver was the one who alerted emergency services, it took them over two hours to dig him out from under the debris and he has now been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

It is currently unclear why the lorry crashed into the house. Local Luneville police are investigating.
