This is the moment a feeble 91-year-old woman is helped by cops after reportedly being locked and abandoned in her home for nearly two weeks with barely any food.

The elderly woman, identified as Luisa Victoria Sanchez Gemio, was rescued by police in the district of Ate-Vitarte in the western Peruvian province of Lima after kindly neighbours gave the OAP food through her window for 10 days.

Sanchez Gemio told local reporters through a window: “I have not eaten much. I saved some rice from yesterday and I ate it this morning.”

In the footage, the 91-year-old is seen being helped by cops who reassure her: “We are the emergency services, dear. We have come to help.”

According to police commander Manuel Alvarado, the elderly woman was left alone for a long period of time in October 2018.

Alvarado told local media: “It is the second time this person has been abandoned by her relatives. There is a police report from 18th October 2018. There is also a complaint filed against 61-year-old Max Orlando Chupa Sanchez for psychological abuse. We are still trying to find him.”
