This is the moment a 70-year-old woman is knocked to the ground by a fellow dog owner after trying to save her beloved pooch from being savaged by his mutt.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in the western Russian capital Moscow and posted on social media where it has been viewed nearly 30,000 times.

In the footage, the old lady is seen sitting on a park bench as a small dog without a lead attacks her beloved pooch which she tries to protect.

She pulls her pet’s lead to bring the pooch closer, but the other dog keeps attacking it.

At one point, she stands up to walk away and the aggressive canine is seen hanging from her jacket sleeve.

In that moment, the dog’s owner comes running over and shoves the 70-year-old woman hard, sending her sprawling onto the icy path.

While he picks up his dog and the old lady gathers hers, they exchange words and the man appears to punch her twice.

The plucky gran responds by kicking out at him, but he comes over and pushes her again.

At the end of the clip, the woman returns with a male companion and they appear to have words with the aggressive dog owner.

It is unclear whether the Moscow authorities are investigating the incident.
