This is the moment a window falls 20 storeys from a high-rise building and lands on a six-year-old boy’s head leaving him fighting for his life in hospital.

The freak accident happened right in front of the boy’s mum in Shenzhen’s Futian District, which is in China’s southern Guangdong Province, at 9:19am today (13th June).

A CCTV camera inside a fruit shop captured the moment the six-year-old, who has not been named, was struck by the window – including full frame and glass pane – while walking next to his mum.

The parent can be seen holding an umbrella, and the window smashes through the brolly, landing right on top of the child.

The boy lost consciousness immediately after the accident, with his family members saying he was not breathing by the time he arrived at Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital for treatment.

He was reportedly put on an assisted breathing device and transferred to Shenzhen Children’s Hospital for surgery.

According to reports, the window fell from the 20th-floor of Block 3 inside the Jingji Flower City Residential District.

The homeowners have been detained by authorities as an investigation into the accident continues.

Local residents said a window fell from the 8th floor of Block 4 on 22nd May.

No one was injured during the previous incident.
