The French rugby team is undergoing a big reshuffle ahead of their Six Nations match on Saturday against Wales and have just announced they are calling on Alivereti Raka to step up after numerous players had to throw in the towel because of injuries.

The French Rugby Federation have said that Guillaume Ducat, Baptiste Delaporte, Maxime Lucu, Lucas Tauzin and now Alivereti Raka are joining the French group of 42 players to prepare for the match against Wales on Saturday.

The announcement comes after a number of players were forced to quit over the weekend due to injuries, forcing coach Fabien Galthie, 50, and his staff to make some adjustments.

As a result, Cyril Cazeaux, 25, who has an ankle injury, has been replaced by Guillaume Ducat, 23.

And Baptiste Couilloud, 22, is being swapped out for Maxime Lucu, 26, because he has gastroenteritis.

Then there is Sekou Macalou, 24, who has a hip injury, who has been replaced by Baptiste Delaporte, 22.

Julien Heriteau, 25, has been switched for Fiji-born Alivereti Raka, 25, because the former is suffering from shoulder dislocation. This is a first for Raka since the World Cup in Japan.

Lester Etien, 24, has a “muscle problem” and has been replaced with Lucas Tauzin, 21.

French media are reporting that Wales as been “ravaged by storm Dennis” ahead of the match against the XV de France. The Bleus are set to go up against the title holders in Cardiff this Saturday.
