This tragic young boy seen being struck here by a window falling from the 20th floor has passed away after spending almost three days fighting for his life in hospital.
Zhuang Yuhang, aged five, was on his way to nursery school when the window landed on his head right in front of his mother in Shenzhen’s Futian District in South China’s Guangdong Province at 9:19am local time on 13th June.
The incident was captured by a fruit shop’s CCTV camera, which showed the window – including frame and glass pane – landing on his mum’s brolly and knocking the boy unconscious.

According to reports, he was rushed to Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital where medics were able to revive his heart and put him on a respirator.
He was then taken to Shenzhen Children’s Hospital for emergency surgery, but his uncle later said that his heart had finally stopped at 5:12am on 16th June after fighting for his life for 68 hours.
It has since been revealed that the accident, which happened outside the Jinji Flower City Residential District, occurred when a homeowner tried to open their window.
The window came off its hinges and plunged 20 storeys onto young Yuhang’s head.

According to reports, the family’s medical bills – totally 85,000 RMB (9,745 GBP) – have been shared by the residential area’s property managing agent and homeowners as well as tenants.
Managing agent Shang Cheng Estate said it had also began inspecting, with the view of replacing, some 4,000 windows in the complex which are prone to similar accidents.
It is still unclear, however, whether the homeowner or Shang Cheng Estate are expected to offer further compensation to Yuhang’s family.
Local officials are also involved in ongoing investigations.
