This five-year-old boy who ordered 35-GBP worth of burgers from McDonald’s on his dad’s phone is now set for a treat after a Facebook post about it was widely shared and saw a boost for his mum’s business.

The incident occurred when young Davi Batista made the huge order on an application on his dad’s phone in the Cordovil area of the city of Rio de Janeiro in the southeastern Brazilian state of the same name in the hope his mum could sell the food on.

The youngster ordered 23 burgers from McDonald’s at a total cost of 225 BRL (35.60 GBP), using his parents’ credit card to pay for the order.

His mother Erica had been out of the house when her son had made the order and she came home to three bags packed with burgers.

The mother said: “At the time I was really angry. I wanted to cancel the order but I couldn’t. It was all paid for with the credit card. When I picked up the bags and saw all those burgers, I started to laugh.”

Her son told his mother: “I bought the hamburgers so you can sell them mum. It was to help you.”

She says her son does not even like burgers and did not eat any of those which he bought.

Erica then posted about the incident on social media, complete with photos of the bags on burgers.

The post quickly began being widely shared, reaching over 36,000 shares, and Erica soon began seeing a benefit from her son’s cheeky order as the number of her followers on her business site doubled.

The mother runs a business selling cakes and sweets and managed to sell some of the burgers but has now seen a boost to her normal business thanks to the popularity of her social media post.

In less than 24 hours her business saw its followers jump from 1,270 to almost 3,000 online and she said: “A lot of came to speak to me about Davi. They said they laughed at the story and things like that, but the orders also started increasing.”

She says that she will treat Davi as the orders are still increasing, saying she will get him the thing he likes to eat most: pizza.

She said: “I spoke to my husband and we are going to order a pizza for him on Sunday. He really doesn’t eat hamburgers, he doesn’t like them. So he deserves to have what he likes most which is pizza.”
