5 Kids Spend First Xmas Without Mum After Tragic Last Gasp Trip To Shops To Buy Extra Pressies

A single mother-of-five has been killed in a tragic Christmas Eve accident after suffering a seizure while driving home with last-minute presents for the kids.

Danielle Morgan, 37, was killed in a single-car accident in Birmingham in the US state of Alabama while on her way home from the shops after buying extra presents for her five children.

According to family members, it is believed that the single mother suffered a seizure behind the wheel, causing her to veer off the road and enter an embankment.

The victim’s friend Katherine Lee said they first met over 10 years ago while working at a hotel in the city of Montgomery, adding: “I’ve been working here for six years, she’s been here two years, but she probably knows more people than I do.

“She just had that personality. You know she didn’t meet any strangers. She was just jolly.

The victim’s brother Troy Morgan said: “She was on her way home to celebrate Christmas and unfortunately turned out to be a tragic, tragic evening.

“It seems like she had a seizure. Some type of medical event that caused her to black out and unfortunately had the injury that took her life.”

He reflected on the victim’s five children, who spent their first Christmas without their mother: “They woke up Christmas morning without (her), and actually the presents that she got them are still at their house. They haven’t even opened them yet.

“We woke up with our families. They didn’t. That’s all they had was their mom. She was a single mom that struggled and made it happen.”

Morgan’s family has set up a GoFundMe campaign for her children that is USD 500 short of its USD-20,000 target as of 29th December.
