Milagros and Priscila were the daughters of the home owners, identified as Jorge Araujo and Marianela Oliva.

Their other two daughters, Iara and Mia, managed to escape the burning house but were reportedly unable to rescue the others in time.

The Suarez children’s mum Soledad had been living with the Araujo family for two months, according to reports.

Following a preliminary investigation, it is currently believed that the fire was started by a faulty heater.

The two survivors have been released from hospital and are staying with their grandparents as the investigation continues.

It is currently unclear if the home owners are being investigated for leaving the children unattended.
