This Indonesian celeb with over 34 million Insta followers has admitted he almost burst into tears when he saw his luxury million-GBP Lamborghini Aventador Roadster in flames.
Reports said that Indonesian megastar Raffi Ahmad, 32, was taking part in a publicity event with F2 driver Sean Gelael at the Sentul International Circuit in the regency of Bogor in the south-western Indonesian region of West Java before his Lambo burst into flames.
The singer and actor, who is said to be an avid collector of luxury vehicles, took part in a race with Gelael before leaving the track to attend another publicity event.
Ahmad was in another vehicle while his driver Salim was travelling behind in the luxury Lamborghini.
Ahmad said he felt weak in the knees when his driver told him that smoke had suddenly appeared from the supercar’s engine.
When the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster caught ablaze, the actor admitted that he almost burst into tears.
The star shared footage of the flaming vehicle on Instagram for his 34 million followers.
He said: “I have to say, it was my absolute dream car, but I guess it was not meant to be. Maybe God will help me get something even better?”
Meanwhile, the local traffic police complained that the Lambo did not have licence plates at the time of the fire.
A police investigation is underway to establish whether the fire was caused by the engine overheating.
The car is reportedly worth 19 billion IDR (1.05 million GBP) although it is unclear if it is customised. The minimum retail price for a Lamborghini Aventador is around 400,000 USD (310,000 GBP). The Roadster version retails at 460,000 USD (357,000 GBP).
After the blaze, the actor reportedly posted on social media “This is not goodbye but just a momentary break”, leading to speculation that he might be taking a break from the public spotlight.
