A 14-year-old schoolgirl and her 15-year-old boyfriend have been arrested for killing the girl’s older brother after he caught them bunking off school.

The body of Sri Dalan was found – wrapped in plastic and with his throat and wrists cut – in an alley behind the family home in the town of Taiping in the north-western Malaysian state of Perak.

Shockingly, police believe he was killed by his 14-year-old sister and her 15-year-old boyfriend after he caught them playing truant at home when they were supposed to be at school.

Sri’s body was discovered by a neighbour two days after his worried parents reported him missing, believing he had failed to return home from school.

But police now believe he did make it home – only to be murdered by his younger sister and her boyfriend after an argument.

Assistant Commissioner Osman Mamat, the Police Chief of Taiping District, said Sri was reported missing on Friday 5th July and his body was discovered on Sunday 7th July.

Cops later arrested the sister and her boyfriend, whose names have not been released, and say they have admitted killing him.

They had allegedly argued after Sri came home from school to find the couple and some friends playing truant and had threatened to tell their parents who were out at the time.

The couple and their friends then left the house but the boyfriend forgot to pick up his mobile phone and a fight broke out after they later went back for it.

Assistant Commissioner Mamat said Sri was killed by his sister and her boyfriend who slit his neck and his wrists, before wrapping his body in a plastic bin bag and dumping it.

He added that police officers had also found a knife which they believed to be the murder weapon.
