German cops are investigating two youngsters – aged 13 and 14 – suspected of having plied a 14-year-old girl with vodka before raping her and leaving her in a bush with alcohol poisoning.
The incident comes after a gang of five boys aged 14 and under were detained for gang-raping an 18-year-old mentally disabled woman in a park in the same state in a case which sparked global outrage and has caused many to question Germany’s laws on not prosecuting suspects under the age of 14.
In the latest case to come to light, two German-Lebanese youths aged 13 and 14, who have not been named, are accused of raping the 14-year-old girl in Herne, a city in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in western Germany on 13th May.

According to local media, the two teen boys aged 13 and 14 went to a kiosk and bought vodka and Red Bull before going to a park together with a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl.
The girls were allegedly forced to drink the alcohol after they initially refused to do so, with reports stating the two boys held onto the 14-year-old girl and poured large amounts of vodka down her throat.
The 13-year-old girl tried to stop them, but when they started to pull the 14-year-old into the bush she ran away in a panic, according to reports.
Reports state the 13-year-old reported how she saw the boys force the girl into oral sex and raped her.
The two teenage boys are said to have left her drunk and helpless in the bush which she eventually managed to crawl from and make it to a bus stop.
She reportedly collapsed at the bus stop and was taken to hospital. Police believe that the girl’s life was in danger after being left in the bush and she was suffering from severe alcohol poisoning.
The victim is said to have been able to confirm the identities of her attackers as the younger of the pair was one of her classmates.
The boys deny the allegations. The 14-year-old is reportedly already known to police for petty crimes and he is being investigated on charges of rape and GBH. The 13-year-old is too young to face the same charges.
Both of them have been suspended from school pending further investigation. The pair are reportedly both of Lebanese origin but are German passport holders. Their mobile phones are now being investigated as the witness to the attack claims one of the pair was filming the attack.

The gang, all Bulgarian natives with three of them aged 14 and two 12, allegedly lured a mentally disabled 18-year-old woman to a playground in a city park.
They then reportedly attacked the teenager and dragged her into some bushes.
A police spokesman said: “There was violence, massive violence.”
The victim was raped while the gang filmed the ordeal on a mobile phone, according to reports.
Just a few days later another case involving immigrant youths aged between 11 and 17 occurred where four Syrians and a Lebanese youth were accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in the same city (Muelheim).
Jennifer Koenig, spokesperson for Duisburg prosecutors investigating the case, said: ‘On Sunday evening there was an incident where a 15-year-old girl was cornered and sexually assaulted by a group of youths. One of the youths is not of the age of criminal responsibility, the other four are being investigated on charges of sexual harassment.”
All three cases are ongoing.
