This 12-year-old boy has been arrested for pouring boiling water over his mother and killing her by cutting off her body parts with a knife in front of his twin brother.

The shocking incident took place in the Krasnogvardeyskiy district in Russia’s second city of St Petersburg in north-western Russia on 27th October.

Local media report the 12-year-old suspect, whose name has not been reported but is said to suffer from mental health problems, allegedly doused his mother in boiling water from a kettle.

He is then suspected of chopping off the woman’s body parts in front of his twin brother. Reports state the boys’ father was in the house at the time but was drunk. When he realised what had happened he called his parents who in turn called the police.

Both cops and a team of psychologists are working with the boy to try to discover more details of the murder. Reports state both brothers attend a school for children with learning difficulties.

Investigators allegedly found a knife, a pair of scissors, tweezers, a skewer and a torch near the murdered woman.

The boy is suspected of having used these items to cause his mother pain during the last minutes of her life.

No motive has been provided for the crime and it is unclear if the suspect has been charged.
