This is the moment a football goalpost falls on a young boy’s head killing him after he and a pal swing from the crossbar.

The shocking accident occurred as the two youngsters were playing with the goalposts on a municipal pitch in the municipality of San Agustin de las Juntas, in the metropolitan area of the city of Oaxaca in the south-western Mexican state of the same name and was recorded by a CCTV camera.

In the video, Cristian C.S., 10, and another boy, who has not been named in reports, can be seen playing with the goalposts.

They hang from the crossbar and as the smaller boy swings from it Cristian C.S. also jumps on. The weight of the youngsters causes the goal to tumble over and the crossbar lands on Cristian’s head as he is caught under it.

The smaller boy gets to his feet while an unidentified woman sprints to check up on Cristian, who is motionless on the ground.

Locals media report police officers and Civil Protection agents came to the scene and Cristian was taken to a nearby clinic but he is said to have died en route. He reportedly suffered a brain trauma with an injury to the frontal right side of his head.

The General Prosecution of the state has started an investigation into the incident.
