Russian Special Forces officers arrested two men they say had been planning a large-scale terrorist attack on behalf of IS.
Officers from Russia’s FSB, the successor to the KGB, swooped on an address in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in south-eastern Russia's Sakhalin Oblast region.
The detention of the criminals was filmed and posted on social media.
The video shows the men cuffed and lying on their fronts on the floor following the raid, then being shoved into a van to be taken away for questioning.
It also shows some of the items found in the men’s home, which security services say are ingredients and components for homemade bombs.
According to the Russian Federal Security Office, the two men were planning a massive terrorist attack.
Reportedly one of the arrested men is of central Asian descent while the other is a Russian citizen. Neither of the men were named.
During the arrest the police found a homemade bomb and extremist books that revealed the men were part of IS, reports said.
Isis (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) is a militant group following a fundamentalist Wahhabi doctrine of Sunni Islam that is trying to set up a state in parts of those countries.
Although it claims to be a state and caliphate with authority over Muslims worldwide, mainstream followers of Islam reject such claims.
The United Nations and many countries individually have designated it a terrorist organisation.
