A man has been killed when he was run over by a lorry after he lay down and went to sleep in the middle of a major road.
The shocking accident was caught on CCTV security cameras in the centre of the city of Orsk in central Russia's Orenburg Oblast region.
The footage shows the man walk across the junction of two major roads at night, lie down and apparently go to sleep.
A car seen approaching as he lies down spots him in the road and manages to avoid him as it turns a corner.
But a street-cleaning lorry then drives across the junction and runs straight over the man.
It appears that the truck driver, who might have been dazzled by a car waiting at traffic lights, did not see them man in the road.
The man, whose name has not been released, died at the scene from his injuries.
Police officers and an ambulance arrived promptly on the scene but were able only to confirm the man's death.
Police have launched an investigation into the unusual case and local media reports they are investigating two possible theories.
One is that the man was suddenly taken ill and lay down as he was unable to walk. The other theory is that he was drunk and simply went to sleep.
The police investigation continues.
The city of Orsk claims to stand in two continents as it straddles the Ural River which divides Europe and Asia.
