This is the moment a man was brutally beaten up by a thief who wanted to steal the 167 GBP he had just won at a slot machine.

The 25-year-old thief, who has a criminal record, was arrested after he robbed a man of 200 EUR in the entrance hall of a building in the neighbourhood of San Jorge, in the city of Pamplona, in the northern Spanish region of Navarra.

The video recorded by the CCTV cameras of the building at around 3 am shows the victim opening the building’s door just before the brazen thief grabs him by the neck and takes him inside the building.

Once they are inside, the thief throws him to the ground and starts kicking him in the chest and head and steals his winnings.

Local media reported that the thief knew that the victim had won money at a slot machine located in a bar nearby and he decided to follow him home and assault him.

The 48-year-old unnamed victim reported robbery to police and they started an investigation using the CCTV footage in order to identify the aggressor.

Once they had identified him, officers went to his house and found the clothes used by him during the robbery, evidence that led to the officers arresting him.

Local police advised citizens not to let strangers into their buildings and said that if one were to notice that one was being followed, to continue on and not attempt to go into one’s home.

Police also recommended not to struggle with the thief, but to get a good look at them so as to be able to identify them later.
