A Mexican professional boxer has shown his followers how to get fit and be as fast him using salsa music to move his hips and to train his feet movements.
The 26-year-old boxer, Santos Saul Alvarez Barragan, better known by the nickname "Canelo" Alvarez, is training in the US city of San Diego to get fit for his next fight against Julio Cesar Chavez and he posted one of his training sessions online.
The video went viral and has been seen almost 300,000 times at the time of writing. It shows the boxer in the ring with his coach Eddy Reynoso, dancing to the song "Que alguien me diga" (‘Somebody to tell me’). While dancing, his coach is seen using some plastic sticks to avoid his rival’s blows.
He posted this video online with the message "when you enjoy what you love" and it was widely commented on by netizens, who enjoyed the new training technique.
Netizen ‘anaely200’ said: "I also want to train with this music."
Some also sent messages of support for the next fight, like ‘ferchoflota18’ who said: "Do not let us down Canelo."
The boxer has a track record of 48-1-1 and will fight in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 6th May against the Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Despite the fact that the fight is already sold out US cinemas will screen what has been touted as an epic fight.
Canelo Alvarez has held the WBO light middleweight title since 2016. Since December 2016, he is ranked as the world’s best boxer by BoxRec. He started his professional career as a boxer at the age of 15, after his championship at the Junior Nationals.
